Policy analyst Butler Tambo has encouraged the people in the country to go and register to voter so that they partake and contribute to the governance of the nation.

"People should go out and register to vote in 2018 and then make sure they cast their ballot for whoever they want. The misguided notion that all those registering to vote will definitely vote for the opposition because of their anger at poor economic performance that has been caused by Zanu PF being at the helm undisturbed from 2013 to date should be discarded," he said.

"People will not just vote for the opposition because they have slept in long queues trying to get their hard earned money and still failed to get it after a week of sleeping in the open. Those vying for political office should explain to the electorate what they will do better. Tell us how you will create employment, get rid of the artificial inflation, build the economy because simply saying so and so stole or bought so many expensive cars will not get you any new votes."

He said if anything for those who care to read Zanu-PF might get the necessary votes to win 2018 if what they tout as successes of command Agriculture, command Mining are to be used as propaganda tools in the rural areas.

"People got free seed and fertiliser and if you read the August 2017 Monetary Policy Statement you will see more Freebies in the form of a fund of USD15million Cross Border Traders, a USD40million for Gold Support (read makorokoza),Usd15million for Women, Usd10million for Youths, Usd5million for the Diasabled to name a few funds. My argument is that the ruling party largess and patronage has given them a head start for 2018, so in your campaigns factor in all these. Am not saying the party cant lose with this loot but the disorder in the opposition ranks only strengthens the ruling party position come 2018," he said.
