A Zanu-PF activist in Gutu Ward 41 Masvingo recently reportedly threatened the villagers at a church telling them that no one will be allowed to register to vote if they have no Zanu PF cards.

Heal Zimbabwe reported that councillor Kaiton Nzembe intimidated community members on the 22nd of September 2017 at Manhombo Methodist Church.

"Nzembe ordered that anyone who wanted to register to vote in the area should first purchase a Zanu-PF membership card. The cards were being sold at $1 each. Nzembe further highlighted that all those who defied the order will be heavily beaten up in the upcoming elections," said the trust.

The trust said in Bikita West Ward 13 village head Taurai Mamhanga and Patrick Ushe also intimidated community members on the 22nd of September 2017 in Ushe village.

"The two conducted door to door visits in the area where they stated that all opposition supporters will be evicted from the community if they do not defect to ZANU PF before the 2018 elections," said the trust.
