Highlanders coach Madinda Ndlovu said he was not happy with his team's performance in their 2-0 win over Herentals at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

"I am not really happy with our performance today (Sunday), this is not what we are capable of doing, said Ndlovhu.

"We will just take the win on the road and earn the three points.

Herentals dominated in the first half though they missed a lot of chances.

"We didn't start the game very well, maybe I should give credit to Herentals for doing their homework.

We failed the whole of the first half and we couldn't penetrate through the channels as we had planned, we couldn't attack them on the wings as we wanted.

"Above all, I would want to give credit to my boys despite the fact that they were not at their best in the first half as they managed to hold the opponent.

"We went to half time at 0-0 which gave us time to try and get what we are not doing right and also look at our plan B in terms of substitutions. When we came back we managed to work like a team and got the two goals."

The coach also shared their plans as a team this season.

"We want to try and bring back the culture of the club which had sort of vanished. By culture I mean Highlanders is driven by development, we don't really buy players from outside. We buy one or two players but we need to have a solid base in terms of development.

"We want to give these youngsters a chance to showcase themselves as they go through these age groups. So this is what we want to do as Highlanders apart from winning games.

"We still need to work, there is still a lot of work to do and these are youngsters so I think we have a lot to do," he said.
