MMPZ urge media to stop bias during elections

Media Monitoring Project Zimbabwe has challenged Zimbabwean media to stop being biased in their coverage of the election period.
It warned the media to desist from sensational and bias reporting prior, during and after the elections scheduled for July 30this year. MMPZ remarks followed proliferation of opinion polls that heave projected President Emmerson Mnangagwa as a winner in this year's polls. These opinion polls have been captured by the media.
Pan African Forum Limited conducted an opinion poll on elections titled "Zimbabwe Presidential Opinion Poll".
This opinion poll was reported by Herald on 30 May 2018.
MMPZ said the report on the opinion polls left out facts such as who sponsored the poll, and the structure of the poll were left out.
Herald reported that if Zimbabwe holds harmonized elections today, Zanu-PF presidential candidate Mnangagwa will garner 70 percent of the vote against MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa's 24 percent, an opinion poll by the Pan African Forum Limited has revealed.
