MDC Alliance parliamentary candidate Settlement Chikwinya has challenged all alliance members to campaign vigorously for their presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa to defeat President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the polls.
"On 14 June 2018 I was duly nominated the MDC-ALLIANCE (MP) House of Assembly candidate having gone through internal processes guided by the Alliance agreement. Its is now time to focus on campaigning for most importantly the Presidential Candidate who is Adv Nelson Chamisa and the MDC ALLIANCE S.M.A.R.T vision. Before I do that allow my friends and family to reflect back a little," he said.
"Politics is often a theatre of decisions, some decisions are right but unfortunately some turn out to be wrong. In my journey as a politician i have not been spared of the decision making moments either, In 2014 I and some colleagues took a decision which fundamentally turned out to be unfortunately wrong in my personal view. It was a decision to differ with the then leader of MDC-T, Hon Dr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai (MHSRIP). Before I delve into any other work it is imperative that I reach out to you my friends and family, with deep sense of regret over that decision at that time and I can only say I AM SORRY."
He said it may be difficult at times to say sorry but it is never difficult to feel that you are sorry for that is instinctively natural.
"I hope friends and family will find it in your heart to forgive me at a personal level for the task we collectively now have at hand needs all shoulders on the wheel. The Vote ahead is not my vote alone, it is our vote, our realistic chance to usher CHANGE," he said.
