TWO siblings from Odzi, Manicaland were last week sentenced to three years in jail each for robbing a local woman at knife point.
Timothy (28) and Sevence Machemedze (age unknown) were sentenced to three years in prison each by Mutare magistrate Tendai Mahwe on Saturday before six months of their sentences were suspended on condition of good behaviour and another six months set aside on condition they restituted the complainant, Agnella Dzingai.
The court heard that on July 15, 2018 at Gayi village in Odzi, the siblings approached Dzingai at a bus stop and robbed her of R10 000 at knife point.
The duo was later arrested in Mutare following a tip-off.
