A Harare woman has accused her husband of disturbing her peace.
Patience Kamboyawo appeared at the Harare Civil Court yesterday applying for a protection order against her husband George Mavhura.
Kamboyawo claims Mavhura was in the habit of harassing and chasing her away from their matrimonial home.
"Since I came back from work in South Africa, he has been insulting and harassing me in front of children and neighbours.
"He went to an extent of chasing me away from home uttering bad words about my parents," said Kamboyawo
Mavhura admitted that he was insulting his wife.
"This wife is useless. She insisted going to work in South Africa in 2012 but I didn't give her permission to go and she came back this year after seven years.
"I chased her away insulting and harassing her because I don't want her in my life anymore.
"How can I stay with this type of a woman Your Worship? I have lost trust in her.
"She should leave me alone and what we can do is to sell all the property we bought together and share the money," said Mavhura
Kamboyawo insisted that she was not leaving.
"I can't leave the house because we built the house together and we bought the property together as well.
"I went to work because George was fired from his work and he was not paying fees for the children so I decided to leave."
Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti, who presided over the matter, granted the protection order in Patience's favour.
Magistrate Miti advised the duo to find an amicable way of solving their dispute even if it takes to sell the property and share the money.
