MDC Deputy National Chairperson Tendai Biti has called for an Internation Commisiion to investigate the Gukurahundi genocide that left more than 20 000 people dead in Midlands and Matabeleland.
"There must be an international judicial commission on Gukurahundi . Those who killed our people cannot speak for the victims nor can they set an agenda," Said Biti.
Biti added that, "Those with blood on their hands must at most apologize to the people of Zimbabwe or keep their gluttonous mouths zipped."
In the past weeks President Emmerson Mnangagwa met a grouping of civic society and church leaders called the Matabeleland Collective.
The meetings resolved that the government will assist in reburial, documentation and healthcare of the victims.
The resolutions angered Professor Jonathan Moyo whose father died during Gukurahundi and was denied decent burial.
When the Mlevu family asked for an order to rebury him the court barred them saying it was a security risk.
Commenting on the pact between Mnangagwa and the Matabeleland Collective Moyo said, "Woolly trickery over #gukurahundi, based on a secret deal between #Mnangagwa & his handpicked so-called Matabeleland Collective will simply not fly. Victims need transparency, truth-telling & justice under a legally defined process in accordance with international standards"
President Mnangagwa who was a Security Minister during the genocide is yet to apologise for the mas murder.
