The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has announced a change to the schedule of its 2026 edition, shifting the official opening ceremony from Friday, April 24 to Thursday, April 23.
In a public notice, the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company said all activities originally planned for Thursday will now be moved to Friday at the same times to ensure a smooth flow of the programme.
"An updated programme will also be circulated in due course through official ZITF communication channels to reflect this change," the notice said.
No official reason was provided for the adjustment.
The annual event, which runs from April 20 to 25, is one of Zimbabwe's largest trade exhibitions, attracting international exhibitors, investors, and government delegations.
The opening ceremony is traditionally officiated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, often alongside an invited foreign head of state, making it a key fixture on the national diplomatic and economic calendar.
The schedule change is widely believed to be linked to the President's programme, although this has not been confirmed by organisers.
