The Dumiso Dabengwa Foundation has explained that the photo of the former ZIPRA Supremo Dumiso Dabengwa on a wheelchair was taken after Dabengwa complained of fatigue and it does not mean he is now unable to walk.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the DD Foundation Director Mthulisi Hanana the organization said, "The image circulating was taken at the airport. Dr Dabengwa used the wheelchair as he was complaining of fatigue owing to his condition and exacerbated by the activities over the Easter holidays."
The Foundation explained that while he has not been well, Dabengwa had been able to attend some events which include the Professor Makhurane's funeral, Dorothy Masuka Memorial Service and the Umkhonto WeSizwe Conference.
Earlier on ZAPU Spokesperson Iphithule Maphosa said the trip to India by Dabengwa was planned while he was in South Africa a few months ago and finally materialized on Monday when he left Bulawayo flying through Harare to India where his doctors secured better facilities from their counterparts in that country.
Dabengwa has not been well since November 2018.
