VID officials fined for violating lockdown restrictions

The love of beer landed two Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) officials and their three accomplices in trouble.
Fidelis Munetsi (45) and Chengeta Chengeta (45) both from VID bindura together with Jusa Saradini (44),Bernard Mupamba(40) and Ethel Chigiji (19) were slapped with $50 000 each by Bindura provincial magistrate Tinashe Ndokera last week for defying lockdown regulations.
Prosecutor Thembinkosi Mananga told the court that the five were drinking beer inside a local bar when police officers pounced on them.
They were arrested and dragged to court.
