Golden Arrows have confirmed the exits of veteran duo Danny Phiri and Edmore Sibanda as they start their preparations for the 2021/22 season.
After finishing in fourth place last season, the KwaZulu Natal-based side are set to undergo major changes, with several of their players linked with moves away while head coach Mandla Nckazi has already left for Orlando Pirates.
The likes of Nkosanathi Sibisi and Divine Lunga are among the players poised for bigger moves, with the latter said to have agreed terms with Mamelodi Sundowns.
But the club has now confirmed their first two official exits, with the Zimbabwean duo of Phiri (31) and Sibanda (34) leaving upon the expiry of their contracts.
"We would like to take this time to thank both Danny and Edmore for their contributions and services to the club and wish them well in their future endeavours," the club statement read on Wednesday.
Phiri joined the club back in 2016 from Chicken Inn and played 97 games for the club across all competitions in his defensive midfield role.
Sibanda signed on a free transfer after impressing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with the Warriors but played a peripheral role due to the emergence of academy graduate Sifiso Mlungwana last season.
