THE Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has reduced fuel prices by US$0,02, but hiked it in local currency.
In a statement yesterday, Zera said diesel now costs US$1,86 down from US$1,88 per litre, while petrol (Blend E15) is now US$1,76 down from US$1,77 per litre.
In local currency, diesel is now $714,91 up from $699,62 per litre and petrol (Blend E15) now costs $677,32 up from $659,80 per litre.
"The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio remains at E15. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages," the Zera statement read.
Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa told a post-Cabinet briefing in May that fuel blending would result in the reduction in the price of fuel.
