Zimbabweans from various walks of life have welcomed the launch of the Bulawayo-based KeYona TV which is currently available on the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) and set to start beaming on Azam TV Channel 398 next week.

On Thursday, the station posted on social media that:

We are excited to announce that KeYona TV is now available on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) with the TV station expected to start beaming on Azam TV Channel 398 next week.

We are also elated to inform the nation and our valuable stakeholders that KeYona TV LIVE programming will commence on 17 December 2022 with a LIVE transmission of our Launch Concert set to be headlined by African powerhouse; Makhadzi ably supported by Clement Magwaza, Asaph and many more entertainers.

Reacting to the announcement, renowned entrepreneur Nkosana Mazibisa said, "This is an exciting time to be alive in Zimbabwe where we are seeing an unprecedented opening up of airwaves. The launch of the TV is a giant opportunity that will tell the untold stories of businesspersons who are building the economy brick by brick but have remained in shadows because of lack of coverage."

Founder of Moyoxide Ideations Desire Moyo said the arts industry has found a fresh outlet to exhibit their creativity.

"As artists, especially form this part of the region, we have always cried that we did not have access to the Television platforms because they are controlled from Harare," Moyo said. "We are happy to see that the leadership of  KeYona TV led by Dr Qhubani Moyo has manifested the vision of our late arts godfather Cont Mhlanga who wanted us to take arts from the streets and put it on small screens of every house. We will surely utilize this opportunity as artists."

KeYona TV is an independent Zimbabwean television station that was awarded a broadcasting license by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) in November 2020.
