President Mnangagwa has urged Zanu-PF to revitalize its mobilization efforts in preparation for the upcoming by-elections. He emphasized that these by-elections offer Zimbabweans an opportunity to remove politically inexperienced puppets who masquerade as opposition political parties.
The by-elections are scheduled for December 9 in nine constituencies that became vacant following the recall of Members of Parliament from the Citizens Coalition of Change (CCC). In addition to the parliamentary by-elections, there will also be council by-elections in various areas, including Bulawayo. The Nomination Court is set to convene on November 7.
During the Zanu-PF 20th Annual People's Conference, President Mnangagwa, who also serves as the party's First Secretary, called on party members to intensify mobilization efforts to secure victory in the upcoming by-elections.
He stated, "I further call upon all leaders and cadres of the Party, including our affiliates, to scale up mobilization activities in all constituencies and wards with pending by-elections scheduled to take place in November and December, respectively. These by-elections provide our people another opportunity to democratically remove the opportunistic, heartless, and politically immature puppets of our detractors who pretend to be opposition political parties."
President Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of unity, peace, love, and non-violence throughout the by-election process. He reiterated that Zanu-PF, as a revolutionary mass party, welcomes both old and new members.
The President also encouraged party members to communicate the resolutions and development-oriented policies adopted during the conference to the people. He highlighted the need for grassroots mobilization and emphasized the importance of meeting the development aspirations of the people.
President Mnangagwa praised the progress achieved by the Zanu-PF-led Government, which reflects the party's vision for a prosperous future for Zimbabwe.
He concluded by calling on everyone to work diligently toward the success of the nation and the realization of Vision 2030, and to continue building, modernizing, and industrializing Zimbabwe collectively.
