Zanu-PF is taking steps to install tracking systems in all party vehicles, and individuals who violate road safety regulations or attempt to evade toll fees will have their vehicles confiscated, as part of a policy promoting servant leadership. The announcement was made by Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Zanu-PF's chairman and Zimbabwe's Minister of Defence, during the 20th Zanu-PF Annual National People's Conference in Gweru.
This decision comes in response to reports of some party members misusing their affiliation to seek exemptions from paying toll fees and other expenses. Muchinguri-Kashiri emphasized the importance of all party members being law-abiding citizens, warning that those found in violation would face legal and party-related consequences.
She noted that President Mnangagwa had provided party vehicles to promote party interests, and he did not intend for them to be misused or tarnish the party's reputation. The chairman called for party members to be responsible and not engage in reckless behavior. Tracking systems will be installed in party vehicles to ensure accountability, and those found engaging in inappropriate activities will face repercussions.
President Mnangagwa has consistently advocated for uprightness and servant leadership for the betterment of Zimbabwe's development. He called on the party to take on greater responsibility and determination in implementing policies, programs, and projects for the nation's success and prosperity. He stressed the need for all party wings to contribute effectively to this mission in his closing remarks.
