Police in Mvurwi allegedly shot a wrong car after mistaking it for a suspected paedophile.
Sources close to investigations told Bulawayo24.com that the police opened fire after assuming that the car belonged to the suspect Kudakwashe Chanda.
"We are looking for Kudakwashe Chanda in connection with sex abuse and drug abuse so we saw a car similar to his and tried to stop it but it continued going then chased it before shooting one wheel," the source said.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi did not pick his call when contacted by this news crew.
Meanwhile, Chanda is a son to the late ZANU PF vice chairman for Mashonaland Central Richard Chanda and he is not knew to controversy.
He has been arrested several times over suspected sex abuse but is yet to be convicted.
