The second fatal accident took place an hour later, around 9 am, at the 105-kilometre mark on the Harare-Masvingo highway near Featherstone. The collision involved a Zupco bus and an Elsberry bus. Following the collision, the Zupco bus overturned and landed on its side, killing one person instantly and injuring 26 others. The deceased was transported to Chivhu General Hospital for post-mortem, while the injured are also being treated at the hospital.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed both accidents in an official statement, expressing condolences and urging caution on the roads.

He further detailed the accident conditions and specified the steps taken for medical attention and investigations.
