Miner leaves a broken knife in a colleague's eye

A jersey dispute between two illegal miners ended disastrously in Mazowe after Shadreck Delicious Mheremhere (23) stabbed his colleague Master Kamwendo (40) in the eye.
The matter came to light at Bindura regional magistrates courts where Mheremhere appeared before magistrate Elisha Singano.
Singano sentenced Mheremhere to five years in jail.
The prosecutor Edward Katsvairo told the court that on September 16 the two were drinking beer at a local bar in Mazowe.
They had a misunderstanding over a jersey and Mheremhere pulled a knife before stabbing the complainant.
The knife broke into the complainant's eye and the convict was left holding the knife handle.
After committing the crime Mheremhere fled from the scene while Kamwendo fell down bleeding.
He was rushed to Concession hospital and later transferred to Parirenyatwa group of hospitals where the blade was removed two days after.
