The Mutumwa St John Foundation Trust (MSJFT) and Sydney Mabhiza Foundation have recently fundraised and donate an assortment of goods and money to the less priviledged members of society.

Speaking after handing over a wheelchair, blankets and some groceries this Tuesday, the Foundations' Principal Director, Mr Lovemore Timburwa has announced it is their organisations' commitment to assist less priviledged members of society and he gave credit to their Founder, Bishop Sydney Mabhiza of the St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World.

"The donations have been driven by our leader's commitment to show love and compassion amongst the less privileged, especially in the wake of El Nino induced drought and other socio-economic disorders which do not spare differently able-bodied members of the society," Timburwa said.

"We always donate to various communities in needy regardless of geography, whether in rural or urban set-ups. The little that we donate will at least bring smiles on the faces of the needy," Timburwa added.

"We were taught that faith without works is dead and a total futility, hence it is our duty to do charitable work amongst communities," Timburwa said.

Speaking after receiving donation from the Foundations, one of the beneficiaries, Active Dzenga has expressed gratitude to the organisations for their non-discriminatory assistance.

"I really appreciate the donation by the Foundations and would love to see others giving testimony to that end. We were not expecting this donation and it has come after a long struggle since mobility was limited because the condition we were in," Dzenga said.

"This donation will go a long way in transforming my life. I am now able to move from one point to another because of this wheelchair and with these blankets, they will provide a conducive environment during winter and current rainy seasons," Dzenga added.

In a related incident of love and compassion, the Foundations have on Sunday donated money amongst various students who have been struggling to pay tuition fees at universities, polytechnical and vocational colleges or training institutions; thereby furthering their education.

Besides charitable works, The St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World recently donated tractors in Mhondoro to ensure that communities are food secure in the wake of El Nino-induced drought which has left some communities starving and loss of large herds of livestock. This has been amongst initiatives that the church has embarked on to complement government efforts.
