Areas along the main watershed, including Matabeleland North, the Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, and Manicaland, are set to experience a mix of weather conditions today, with the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) warning of heavy rainfall in these regions.

The morning is expected to be partly cloudy and mild, but as the day progresses, conditions will shift to mostly cloudy and warm, with scattered thunderstorms forecasted. Meanwhile, other provinces will start the day with similar partly cloudy and mild conditions before warming up in the afternoon, accompanied by isolated thundershowers.

Yesterday, the Mashonaland provinces, Harare Metropolitan, Midlands, and northern parts of Manicaland saw a mix of partly cloudy and mild conditions in the morning, with isolated light rain reported in some areas. By the afternoon, the cloud cover increased, leading to scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain in certain locations. The rest of the country experienced mild morning conditions that transitioned to partly cloudy and warm weather later in the day, with isolated showers, some of which were accompanied by thunder.

The previous day, much of Zimbabwe experienced widespread thunderstorms due to increased atmospheric moisture. Notable rainfall figures included 70mm recorded at Agritex Nyamweda, 55mm at Lusulu Tsetse Control, and 47mm in Gwanda. In southern areas such as Masvingo and the southern parts of Manicaland, light showers were reported due to a cool, moist airflow.

The western half of the country started yesterday with cloudy and mild conditions, with light rain observed in some areas as moisture from Botswana influenced the weather pattern. By the afternoon, the cloud cover cleared slightly, leading to partly cloudy and warm conditions, with scattered thundershowers expected.

The Meteorological Services Department has urged residents in affected regions to remain cautious, as heavy rain and thunderstorms could lead to localized flooding and disruptions. Citizens are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions during this period of unsettled weather.
