A Rainforcing Steel Contractors employee has appeared in court on charges of fraud, forgery, and theft of trust property. Nothando Banana, aged 35, of Barham Green, denied the charges when she appeared before Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Dambudzo Malunga.

Banana was represented by Bob Siansole of Shenje and Company, who entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf. The case centers around allegations that Banana forged documents in order to unlawfully steal company funds.

In court, Bokani Bechwana, the company's finance manager, testified that evidence had been uncovered showing that Banana had forged documents in order to misappropriate company money. The theft was reportedly uncovered following a police investigation prompted by the company's report to authorities.

After the initial hearing, Nothando Banana was remanded out of custody and is set to return to court on May 15 for the continuation of her trial.

The case highlights concerns over internal financial security within businesses and the importance of vigilance in monitoring company accounts and employee activities. As the trial progresses, further details surrounding the alleged forgery and theft are expected to emerge.
