A 40-year-old motorist, Rojers Nyarai Dzuda of Rugoi Business Centre, Rusape, was recently robbed of $1000 in cash by three unknown individuals, including an elderly man, while traveling along the Rusape-Nyanga road.
The incident took place at around 10:30 a.m. when Dzuda was driving his Mazda B100 towards Rusape. After giving a lift to two unknown passengers - an elderly man and a woman - just past Nyabadza Business Centre, trouble ensued upon arrival at the Ministry of Education offices in Rusape.
According to Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Chinyoka, the elderly man, who was seated in the passenger seat, asked to disembark with the woman. Suddenly, a white Honda Fit with an unknown registration number arrived, dropping off another man who approached Dzuda from behind. The assailant held Dzuda's neck and searched him while the elderly man stole his wallet containing $1000 cash. The three suspects then fled into nearby bushland.
"No arrests have been made so far, and investigations are ongoing," said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
