Highlanders Football Club are poised to appoint a new chief executive officer, with final interviews for the vacant post expected to conclude on Friday morning.

The CEO position has been unoccupied for the past three months following the resignation of Brian Moyo, who is currently under investigation over alleged involvement in player transfers from Bulawayo Chiefs. His departure triggered an extensive search for a suitable replacement to steer the administrative affairs of one of Zimbabwe's most iconic football clubs.

Though the club has remained tight-lipped about the shortlisted candidates, insider sources revealed that three individuals - Nkululeko Ndlovu, Sikhumbuzo Ndebele, and Nqobile Ngulube - were interviewed for the top job this week.

Ndlovu, a strategist and former police officer, is also a Highlanders member and is reportedly being considered for his organisational acumen and knowledge of the club's internal dynamics.

Ndebele, a familiar face in Zimbabwean football, previously played for Highlanders and served as general manager of Bulawayo City. He was also part of the recently disbanded ZIFA Normalisation Committee, giving him strong administrative credentials and insight into local football governance.

Ngulube brings with him grassroots appeal and academic depth, having been active in Highlanders' Cowdray Park and Hwange supporters' chapters. He is also the author of a book on football and sports administration, positioning himself as a candidate who bridges both fan engagement and technical leadership.

The selection of the new CEO is seen as a pivotal step for Highlanders as they look to stabilise their operations and refocus their efforts on competitiveness both on and off the pitch. The club is expected to make an official announcement shortly after the final interviews are completed.
