The ruling party of Mozambique FRELIMO, has invited popular Glendale-based Zimbabwean traditional healer Peter "Sekuru Nyangatayani " Chingudzi for independence celebrations in Gema District, Mozambique, on Wednesday.
The traditional healer commands a huge clientele base in Mozambique, hence the invite.
Expressing his joy to be part of the neighbour's celebrations Sekuru Nyangatayani preached.
"The invitation shows that they is unity between us (Zimbabweans) and Mozambique l am so happy to be part of the delegation which is going to Grace the historic day, Nyangatayani said.
He further claimed that he has bought two cattle to be slaughtered there and he is providing entertainment by carrying two Zimbabwean artistes.
"I have since bought two cattle for relish since it is a big memorable day, people should enjoy every piece of the independence so food and drinks l am providing," Nyangatayani said.
"To spice the day many know me as joy master, I always want to see people happy so l am trying two artistes with me one is Matumbu and the other big artistes l can't say because the management is yet to give me green light to publish them," he added.
Zimbabwe and Mozambique share a complex relationship rooted in their shared struggle against colonial rule and their subsequent collaboration during Mozambique's civil war. Initially, FRELIMO, the ruling party in Mozambique, had reservations about ZANU, the Zimbabwean liberation movement, but eventually provided crucial support for their armed struggle against Rhodesia. After Zimbabwe's independence in 1980, the two countries continued to cooperate, with Zimbabwe providing military assistance to FRELIMO during the Mozambican.
