Warriors plummet in FIFA Rankings

Zimbabwe has suffered a major blow in the latest FIFA world rankings, tumbling nine places to 125th following a disappointing international window.

The Warriors' decline was confirmed in the global standings released on Thursday, which came after their back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Benin and Rwanda. The losses not only ended Zimbabwe's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes but also dented the team's international standing.

Previously positioned at 116th, Zimbabwe now has 1,135 ranking points and has slipped to 35th on the African continent.

The drop represents the steepest fall among African teams in this update, highlighting the magnitude of the Warriors' struggles on the competitive stage.
