Yadah FC coach Brenna Msiska remains optimistic that his team can avoid relegation despite a 1-1 draw with ZPC Kariba at The Heart Stadium on Saturday, a result that complicates the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries-sponsored side's fight for top-flight survival.
ZPC Kariba took the lead early in the fifth minute through Kauya Katurutu's strike, finished off by Samuel Makawa, leaving Yadah chasing the game. Despite creating several chances, the team was unable to convert, denting their hopes of climbing out of the relegation zone.
Looking ahead, Yadah will travel to Herentals before hosting Dynamos in Week 33 and closing their campaign against Simba Bhora.
"We are in a tough spot, but we will try our best as a team. There are still three games to go, and we need to win all of them to remain in the topflight," Msiska said.
"This was not a good result for us as it threatens our Premier League status. We had good chances, but we failed to utilise them. We've been in such situations before and managed to pull through, and I hope we will do the same this season."
Yadah currently sit second from bottom on 31 points, and the relegation battle is intensifying as the season nears its conclusion. Msiska acknowledged the challenges but insisted that the team is ready to fight for survival.
"The relegation puzzle is taking new twists every week, and it's unfortunate that we are now caught in that web," he added.
The team will need strong performances and a bit of luck in the remaining fixtures to secure their place in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League next season.
