Former Norton Independent legislator Temba Mliswa has publicly challenged presidential spokesperson George Charamba to a physical fight amid a fiery exchange on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In a strongly worded response to a statement allegedly posted by Charamba, Mliswa dismissed threats directed at him, declaring that he is "not afraid of anyone" and even boasting of his martial arts skills.

"Ahh isu anaShumba Mhofu toita dzekudya. Shoko harivhikwe nokusvetuka manhingi padare, ndakatotaura and you heard me. Zvenyu zvokuvhundutsira vanhu pano nechirungu chema poem hazvishande. Kana iri karate yamunotemba ini ndine Aikido," he posted.
Mliswa was responding to a post from an account under the handle @GeorgeCharamba2, which stated:

"I will personally deal with this barking dog called @TembaMliswa. Uchasvinura Zidununu."

However, Charamba has previously disowned the X handle, distancing himself from statements made under that account.

In a series of follow-up posts, Mliswa also revealed that he now harbours presidential ambitions, saying he has moved beyond pursuing ministerial or parliamentary positions.

"Once upon a time I believed I had the relevant qualifications to be a Minister of Sport and I actually desired it - until I realised you have to lobby and scrap for those positions," he said.
"I'm now way past eyeing all that. Ndingatoda kuita President zvirikuda ana VP. ZvehuMinister or MP I'm way past that. I'm actually good where I am even if all else fails."

Mliswa further accused some social media personalities, including one identified as @LynneStactia, of spreading misinformation and being used as tools for "counterintelligence" to gauge public sentiment.

He also reaffirmed his loyalty to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, describing his criticism of the Head of State as "constructive and respectful," while maintaining that he remains guided by principles rather than personal gain.

"Personally I don't have to be paid to defend the President as he is my brother. That's why my criticism against him remains constructive.
Even with VP Chiwenga, I criticise with logical points, not insults, because I don't carry personal vendettas," he said.

The escalating online exchange between Mliswa and Charamba adds to a growing list of public spats among ruling party affiliates and former legislators, reflecting deepening tensions within Zimbabwe's political landscape.
