ZRP unveiling five high-powered new patrol high-powered vehicles

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has officially launched a rebranded National Highway Patrol team, unveiling five high-powered Double-Cab Ford Ranger vehicles aimed at enhancing road safety during the festive season and beyond.

The launch took place on Thursday, with Police Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba in attendance. According to a statement on ZRP social media, the vehicles form part of a broader strategy to strengthen traffic law enforcement and implement electronic monitoring across the country’s highways.

“The vehicle drivers and assistants will also be equipped with body-worn cameras as part of an electronic traffic management system on the roads,” the statement said.

Motorists and road users were urged to report unruly or dangerous driving directly to the Highway Patrol teams for swift action. “Please make use of these new National Highway Patrol vehicles to make reports once you come across the teams on the roads,” the ZRP statement added.
