ZANU-PF has paid tribute to its long-serving staff, describing them as the engine room of the party during an event held at the party's headquarters in Harare.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zanu-PF Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda expressed gratitude to party President and First Secretary Emmerson Mnangagwa for supporting the initiative to recognise the contributions of the hardworking employees.

"Let me pay my deepest gratitude to our leader, President Mnangagwa, who, when we presented to him the idea of saying thank you to the staff, did not hesitate. He blessed it and said go ahead. Without his blessing, this moment would not have taken place," Adv Mudenda said.

He emphasised that the service award is a token of appreciation for all staff members and acknowledged their central role in keeping the party's operations running smoothly.

"You are the engine that gives power to the operations of our revolutionary party. Without the staff, the politicians who compose the political part of the party cannot function without your expertise in running the offices. This is how important you are-the engine of the party. Now the engine must be oiled. It needs water for it to function effectively. And this is the oiling; this is the watering that we are planting today," he said.

The event highlighted Zanu-PF's recognition of the dedication, loyalty, and hard work of its administrative and support staff, whose efforts underpin the party's day-to-day functioning.
