Guruve grisly murder convict confesses before First Lady

A Guruve man accused of killing several relatives in cold blood made an emotional confession before First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa during her visit to Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
The First Lady revealed the encounter on her X account.
“I visited Chikurubi Maximum Prison where I met Anymore Zvitsva following the horrific murders that left many families in Guruve traumatised and communities shaken,” she posted.
“Listening to his confession was deeply disturbing, but it was important for me to understand how such violence could emerge within our society.”
She said her thoughts remained with the bereaved families who continue to carry the pain of losing their loved ones, noting that “no words can erase that grief”.
“As a nation, we must strengthen our values, protect our communities and support those affected by such tragedies. I pray for healing for the families and peace for the communities still struggling to come to terms with these painful events,” she added.
Zvitsva remains in remand awaiting trial for the murder cases.
