ZRP refutes social media rumours on tourists' vehicles

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a statement dismissing circulating social media claims that tourists' vehicles are being impounded for using rooftop tents or roof racks. The police emphasized that no such enforcement is taking place and described the misinformation as false and contemptible.

The ZRP urged tourists seeking clarification to contact their nearest police station or the National Complaints Desk via phone at (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp at 0712 800197.

Additionally, the police confirmed they have coordinated with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to address and counter the spread of these false messages, ensuring accurate information is available to visitors.
