Bosso ends Scottland FC's 9-match winning run

Highlanders produced a disciplined display to end Scottland FC's nine-match Castle Lager Premier Soccer League winning streak with a deserved 1-0 victory at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
The result handed the defending champions and league leaders their first league defeat in 10 matches, while Highlanders claimed a morale-boosting three points in front of their home supporters.
Bosso broke the deadlock in the 25th minute through leading striker Benjamin Adeogun. Mongameli Tshuma carved open the Scottland FC defence with a well-timed through ball before Adeogun calmly slotted past goalkeeper Nelson Chadya to register his seventh goal of the campaign.
Highlanders almost doubled their advantage moments later after Scottland FC's defence failed to deal with a loose ball, but Chadya and his backline recovered to prevent further damage.
Scottland FC emerged from the halftime break determined to restore parity, but their hopes suffered a major setback when defender Kelvin Moyo was shown a red card for bringing down Reason Sibanda on the edge of the penalty area.
Andrew Mbeba's resulting free-kick was comfortably blocked by the defensive wall as Highlanders maintained control despite their numerical advantage failing to produce a second goal.
Bosso continued to create opportunities and nearly sealed the contest late on, but Brighton Ncube was denied by Chadya after being played through on goal.

Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari praised his players for sticking to the tactical plan against one of the league's strongest sides.
"The boys are playing so well, and today the fans are happy after the three points. Winning against Scottland FC is a good result for us because they have quality in all departments," Mwaruwari said.
Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza admitted his side fell below their usual standards but insisted they would respond positively.
"It's not the end of the day. We were not at our best, but we will take the lessons and move on," he said.
In other Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches played on Sunday, Triangle United began life under new coach Genesis Mangombe with a 2-1 victory over Hardrock, while Dynamos and Simba Bhora settled for a goalless draw at Rufaro Stadium.
