ZIMBABWE Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba has completed a move to Greek Super League club Panetolikos on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with English side Sheffield Wednesday.

The experienced midfielder begins a new chapter in his career after leaving the Championship club at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Nakamba joins Panetolikos with a wealth of experience gained across some of Europe's top leagues, having previously played in England, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The 31-year-old is expected to add leadership, composure and defensive solidity to the Greek outfit as they prepare for the 2026/27 Greek Super League campaign.

His arrival is also seen as a significant boost for Zimbabwe, with the Warriors captain continuing to compete at a high level in European football ahead of upcoming international assignments.

Nakamba made his name in Europe after spells with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem and Belgian champions Club Brugge before securing a move to the English Premier League with Aston Villa in 2019.

He later joined Luton Town on loan before making the switch permanent, eventually moving to Sheffield Wednesday, where he spent the 2025/26 season.

Panetolikos will be hoping Nakamba's experience at club and international level will strengthen their midfield as they target an improved league campaign.

The move also ensures that Zimbabwe's captain remains active in a competitive European top-flight league as the Warriors continue preparations for future continental and international competitions.
