Zanu-PF's inaugural President's Ball has raised more than US$9 million, surpassing its US$6 million target as the ruling party mobilises resources for its forthcoming national conference.

The fundraising dinner featured an auction of personal academic and professional memorabilia belonging to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Among the items put up for auction were records relating to his 1975 graduation class at the University of Zambia (UNZA), his dissertation, graduation certificate and a framed photograph commemorating his admission to the Bar in 1976.

The proceeds represent a significant boost to the party's preparations for its forthcoming conference, scheduled to take place in Chinhoyi from October 12 to 17.

The event was organised as part of efforts to raise funds to support the conference, bringing together party leaders and invited guests for the fundraising initiative.

Surpassing the US$6 million target by more than US$3 million marks a major fundraising milestone for Zanu-PF ahead of the gathering.
