A new brand of condoms has hit the streets of Harare with the distributors assuring users that it is of high quality.
The 4Play condoms are packaged in a black box that can easily be mistaken for a packet of chocolates. The distributors of then condoms, Kalahari healthcare, say the brand is made of high quality latex which reduces chances of bursting.
"This is a premium brand made of high quality material hence there are very minimal chances of bursting during sex and we package them in fours so one will not easily run out of supply during sex," said Kalahari Healthcare senior official.
The packet of 4Play contains four premium latex condoms and this beats the market norm of three condoms per packet.
With the number of sex scandals everyday condom-manufacturing and distributing business should be a very lucrative and sustainable income-generating project.
"The product has been in Zimbabwean market for a month now and it has been received well in the market and demand keeps increasing for anyone who would have used it," said Kalahari healthcare co-manager Dr Prince Mushininga.
He said their condoms make sex a pleasure and they do not have a bad smell - unlike-those usual condoms (no mentioning names).
"It doesn't have any bad scent and the market loves it. As Kalahari healthcare we were given the distributorship by the manufacturer which we will use to fight new HIV infections," he said.
He said the product will also go a long way in protecting users against HIV, sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies. Like many other condoms, 4Play condoms are manufactured in Thailand and are now found in Zimbabwean pharmacies, service stations, supermarkets and beer outlets as well as other areas where prostitution if rife.
