A woman from Gweru's Mambo suburb was left cursing her ancestors after her privates got swollen just after using tightening soap.
The woman, Precious Masamba (22), is one person who swears that she will never use anything that has to do with enhancing sexual pleasures.
The tightening soap craze has been growing with most women scrambling for the imported soaps from the informal sector.
In an interview with B-Metro, Masamba said she bought the soap because she has heard a lot of people talking about its purported good results.
"I bought the soap from a Sekai Matanga because I have heard a lot of people saying it works very well. But before I bought I asked Matanga if there were any side effects and she said the soap does not have any side effects. I trusted her but I was surprised to see rash developing around my genital area and later my privates started swelling," she said.
Masamba said she was embarrassed when her husband asked her but she had no option but to tell him the truth.
"My husband asked me what had gone wrong and I was so embarrassed. Because I had no other option I came out clean and he was angry with me. I then went to Matanga to confront her but she said that the problem was with me not the soap because none of her customers had a reaction after using the soap," said Masamba.
When contacted for comment Matanga said she sold Masamba a quality product, adding that if she was not happy she was welcome to get a refund.
"I only sell quality products. If Masamba is not satisfied with the product she can come and get her money," said Matanga. The soap was bought for US$2.
