Prophet Angel's lawyer summoned to court

The State will summon Spirit Embassy Ministries leader Prophet Uebert Angel Mudzanire's lawyer to testify in the ongoing trial of a Harare man accused of helping the Church leader in defrauding businessman Ndabazinengi Shava of his Bentley.

Law officer Editor Mavuto said there was need for Prophet Angel's lawyer Wellington Pasipanodya of Manase and Manase Legal Practitioners, to confirm in court that he was the one who prepared the affidavit filed at the High Court in which the man of the cloth cited that he did not know the complainant Shava since he had dealt with the accused Andersen Tagara.

The State wishes to tender the plea as evidence in the pending fraud case at the Harare magistrates' court.

Mavuto had made an application to tender Prophet Angel's plea but Tagara through his lawyer Itai Ndudzo, objected to the production of the plea arguing that it was based on hearsay.
