Mthwakazi Republic Party Secretary for Information and Publicity Ackim Mhlanga has challenged the Bulawayo business community to respect people of Mthwakazi by providing jobs to the locals than bringing people from outside the province to take all jobs yet locals are jobless.

He said March 1 his party led a delegation in Bulawayo City where they visited a number of Restaurants, fast food providers and other private Companies.

"During the visit a pertinent issue was raised where we queried why do they employ Shona speaking people only? The outlets also have a tendancy of displaying menus that have foreign names to traditional dishes, chief among them being the replacement of "isitshwala" by the Shona word "sadza", "idobi" by "dovi" etc," he said.

"We got very good cooperation from management and some of staff of visited outlets but some hardcore Shona Suprimests dont take us serious, but some promised to correct the anomaly both on their employment criteria, menu boards and receipting systems."

He said they will honour their promises, as we strongly believe the current scenario is a deliberate ploy by the Grand Plan implementers to trivialize and denigrate our local people, culture and tradition. While enforcing their Shona Supremacy on us.

"The chief culprits among others are as follows; Chicken Slice, Choppies, Africa Bet, TM, OK, SPAR, and TREK. We realise that most foreign business owners are made to believe that when you employ Shona people in management you are protected, you can even brake the Law nothing happens to you as long as you have a Shona or Zanu pf official in your management Team, hence the deliberate partisen employment cretaria," he said. "These companies do not respect us at all as Mthwakazi, we believe its high time we take the route being taken by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in South Africa of demonstrating by any means possible, so that we are respected. We sincerely hope the promises were made in good faith as we endeavour to restore our dignity as a people of Mthwakazi and preserve our language and broader culture as a people."
