Mthwakazi Republic Party has accused opposition political parties in Zimbabwe of using the Gukurahundi genocide as a political campaign tool at the expense of victims of the killings who have not benefited 35 years after independence.

Hloniphani Ncube , Secretary General of the party said a number of Zimbabwean political parties have several times used this sensitive human rights violation issue as a campaign gimmick, because they are also extended projects of Zanu PF to deceive our local people.

"Firstly Gukurahundi was targeting the Mthwakazi people from the present day Matebeleland regions, of which the right people to decide about this matter are people from Mthwakazi," he said. "The research undertaken by the party secretariat team established that, the victims of Mthwakazi firstly whose relatives were brutal killed as indicated in online documentaries wants decent burials to be undertaken to their loved ones and also death certificates for those victims to be unveiled by the current brutal government, so that, they can peruse the issue of getting national particulars for orphans left by these brave bread winners."

Ncube said the party noted that most of the children who are victims of Gukurahundi do not have birth certificates, and they cannot access them locally because people who are presiding at the registry office are foreigners of Zimbabwe who are after bribes not the interests of the Mthwakazi people.

"The other challenge faced by the victims of Gukurahundi is that no justice have been done to the perpetrators of Gukurahundi who still live a normal life of continually taking innocent souls particularly in Mthwakazi," Ncube said. "The best compensation that the world can offer to these people contained in our comprehensive research is bringing all the planners and the implementing stakeholders into book."

He said MRP established that, no money can amount to a soul of a human being, hence grants or money proposed by other political parties are not what our people want.

"Furthermore our people do not want any political party from Zimbabwe to talk about this issue, as this was done by the Zimbabwean people predominantly Shona hence them talking about it evoke strong feelings of being hurt. lastly no counseling has been conducted to the victims who saw their loved ones burnt alive," he said. "The most trouble some aspect of it is that such pictures are always broadcast in a deceiving manner to the local broadcasting institution of propaganda of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Cooperation TV, which is highly Shonalised in all aspects. This issue must be taken seriously by the world because if it is left isolated, its a near future time bomb, that its just a matter of God's setting for it to explode."
