Veteran broadcaster and former ZBC presenter Ezra Tshisa Sibanda has confirmed the safe recovery of a two‑year‑old Bulawayo girl who was allegedly abducted from a city mall earlier this week.

The toddler, Asandra Ndhlovu, was reportedly taken on 17 February 2026 at around 10:30am from her mother's workplace at a shopping complex located at the corner of Leopold Takawira Avenue and J. Moyo Street.

According to Sibanda's update, police received crucial information on 19 February regarding the child's whereabouts. Acting on the tip‑off, officers moved swiftly and arrested a female suspect at the corner of Herbert Chitepo Street and 3rd Avenue in Bulawayo. The child was found unharmed and has since been reunited with her mother.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector N. Msebele confirmed the development.

"We received information on 19 February 2026 concerning the whereabouts of the minor who had been reported abducted. Our officers reacted promptly, leading to the arrest of a female suspect. The child was safely recovered and reunited with her mother. The suspect is currently assisting police with investigations," she said.

Inspector Msebele also commended members of the public for their cooperation, saying their vigilance played a key role in ensuring the child's safe return. Police investigations are ongoing.
