MDC PRESS STATEMENT 1/04/2012.- RESPONSE TO CAIN MATHEMA ATTACK ON MDC PRESIDENT WELSHMAN NCUBE.
The MDC is not surprised at the attack of MDC President Welshman Ncube by Cain Mathema that appeared on the Sunday News newspaper 1/04/2012.
The attacks on the noble efforts by Ncube serves to confirm the long held view that Mathema in a prefect of his political handlers in the capital and does not in any way speak or fight for the interest of the province that he was appointed to represent.
While the MDC respects the fact that Mathema is unelectable fellow who survives on political praise singing and idolizing his political gods, we believe it is once again an unfortunate for him to continue to pretend to be blind of the glaring marginalization and poverty that is evident on the lives of the people of Matabeleland just to protect his failing political office. His stance is not surprising considering that during the difficult times of Gukurahundi where thousands of our people lost their lives Mathema was enjoying the comfort of those have purposed in their hearts to exterminate the very people he wants to represent. The people of Zimbabwe and indeed of Matabeleland and Midlands will not forget this; they eagerly await the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that will expose his role during those painful times.
Mathema ignorance of politics is amazingly shocking. It is sad that with all these years in politics, to this date he doesn''t know that Welshman Ncube is not a member of the United States congress and does not pass the laws of that country. It is a public record that ZIDERA is not a brain child of Ncube. To us it is again the case of political desperation that has driven Mathema to the lowest levels of political imbecility.
The coming of the parliament of Bulawayo is an inevitable fact that Mathema and his political handlers must learn to live with. As a party we support this, we are convinced that it will create employment opportunities for our people a d bring the legislators face to face with the sad reality that there is an urgent need to address the migration of Bulawayo industry to other areas. We urge Ginyilitshe Mathema to light his candle high if he has any than to attempt to blow off Ncube's political light for he will not succeed, People of this country know who their heroes are and will not buy these lies and cheap politicking from a record sell-out.
The MDC would like to reiterate its commitment to be the voice of the downtrodden. We wish to make it clear that the appointments of the prefects of the centre as governors of the provinces serve as a motivation for our desire for elected executive governors which is an inseparable part of devolution of power. No amount of lies from the enemies of democracy will rerail our quest for a just and a fair Zimbabwe.
