MATABELELAND North Minister of State Richard Moyo has called for the supervisors of the 2022 Population and Housing Census to ensure proper data collection that truly reflects the population in his province.
Moyo said this during the launch of the 2022 Population and Housing Census Level Two Training at the Lupane State University recently.
ZimStat Census for 2012 pegged Matabeleland North population at 749,017.
He said the census supervisors must ensure proper counting of the people in the province for proper planning by the government for development.
"I trust you will not let the province down and you will be able to train those below you to ensure that data they collect is a true reflection of the population in the province and ensure proper planning and resource allocation," Moyo said.
Moyo said the success or failure of the census rests in the hands of supervisors.
