Cellphone thief jailed for stabbing beer patron

A 26-YEAR-OLD Plumtree cellphone thief was sent to jail after he stabbed a fellow imbiber on the abdomen after he revealed that he had stolen a mobile phone of another imbiber.
Nqobizitha Moyo (26) was sentenced to two years in jail by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware suspended six months on condition of good behaviour.
The court heard that on December 26 last year, Moyo met the complainant Daniel Sibanda on a footpath and accused him of exposing him for theft of cellphone at a bar.
A misunderstanding arose and Moyo pulled an okapi knife from his pocket and stabbed Sibanda on the abdomen.
Selestine Madziwa prosecuted.
