Midnight robber arrested

A machete-wielding suspected robber who broke into a 52-year-old woman's bedroom at midnight and stole money, clothes, a cellphone and a power bank.
The matter came to light at Plumtree Magistrates' Court on Thursday, where Meison Ncube (26) appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware, facing a robbery charge.
He was remanded in custody to October 6.
The state alleged that on September 15, around midnight, Ncube broke into Jerina Zebeni Mungombe's room and stole money, cellphone, power bank and clothes.
He was arrested on September 22 while at the shops, while trying to reset the stolen phone.
Sheila Nyathi prosecuted.
