Good morning Brethren

TODAY'S WORD

1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;5:3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

There is a wide field for the elders and the helpers in every church. They are to feed the flock of God with pure provender, thoroughly winnowed from the chaff, the poisonous mixture of error. You who have any part to act in the church of God, be sure that you act wisely in feeding the flock of God under your guardianship; for its prosperity much depends upon the quality of this food.

The Apostle Peter goes on to say, this should not be done for filthy lucre or for gain, as has become the norm nowadays. It is very sadening nowadays to see those who claim to have been entrusted to feed the flock taking advantage of the troubled souls only to extort money from their pockets. These things out not to be so brethren.

For gospel is not only to be heard as a word of mouth. But be examples, it should be illustrated in a Christian's life. Love, kindness and Charity in the example of Christ should be made manifest in our daily activities.

After all has been said and done, the Chief Shepherd, Christ himself will reward those who turn many to righteousness. See also Daniel 12 :3.

If you are willing and obidient you will eat the good of the land.
