TODAY'S WORD
Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
In as much as many of the old Testament prophets pointed to future events beyond their lifetimes, they also heavily focused on spiritual and moral reform and unselfish service in the present. They rebuked and at times employed inflammatory language to exhort and to condemn extravagant efforts to worship but did not reflect God's compassion for the suffering of those around them. Sadly. This is a trend today! Should not a form of worship be revealed by those who are serving the Lord by ministering to the needs of others?
How can you claim to love God whom you don't know, when you are failing to love and help a fellow poor kid whom you see? The Lord hates and condemns the outward show of piety because he know how false it can be.
It is our responsibility to care for the environment around us and to be a blessing to the people God has put into our lives. Love one another, for love is of God, and he who does not love does not know God.
If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.
