BCC public toilets are a horrible health hazard

03 Nov 2020 at 03:22hrs | Views
Bulawayo City Council public toilets are a horrible health hazard, especially the one in Lobengula Street where people board the so-called ZUPCO buses to the high-density suburbs.

I could not believe my eyes when I paid $8 bond to be able to use the toilet with no receipt and no real toilet paper.

There was human faeces splashed on the walls of the toilet, the toilet chamber had some stool that had not been flushed down hanging in there and the stench was just unbearable. I could not use the toilet.

Now can you imagine what would have happened if I had a running stomach? When I complained to the person who I think was the cashier at the door, the retortion was vulgar, from obviously an uncouth character not fit for public service - "you people like complaining too much, go away here you..........", the gentleman responded.

The multimillion-dollar question is, whose tender is that and how did he win it? Obviously, whoever that person is he is not the right person for the job.

Could somebody please help deal with that quickly because that is health hazardous? We are complaining of the COVID.19 scourge spread when we have public facilities as dirty as that toilet at Lobebgula Street?

I used to think that politics was a professional job meant to render good public service, but no, I was wrong. Politics is turning out to be a criminals job meant to symphony people of their finances in return for shady jobs and making sure of that they are kept silent about it all.

Let's be very careful who we elect into public office because surely we have done a bad job in that department.

Watch out folks, there is still danger out there, the coronavirus fellows, please.
