Two days ago, on Thursday, 16 October 2025, the SAPES Trust, led by Ibbo Mandaza, hosted a SAPES Policy Dialogue titled "Another Imploding Succession Battle in ZANU-PF in the Midst of Unprecedented Corruption Scandals in and Around the State: Where Will the Chips Fall This Time?" During the event, panellist Jealousy Mawarire made the following unsubstantiated claim:
"The likes of Chinamasa, your relative, Sekuru. He has been bought. He's living in one of these Zvigananda's houses. He has been bought. And the guy, that sharp legal mind has been blinded by money. He's the same guy who made a presentation, in Bulawayo in 2024, saying that the 'Resolution Number 1' was legally unimplementable. But because of a few dollars that he was given, the guy is singing a different song."

In reality - and as has been publicly documented for nearly a year - this is what Hon. Patrick Chinamasa actually stated:
"I understand clearly the motivation behind the resolution. We have scored great achievements under the leadership of His Excellency, the President. So, I understand the motivation is that these achievements should continue. However, our department was being asked the question: Is it legally possible? And the short answer I gave was that yes, it's legally possible."
Observation:
It is both disappointing and deeply concerning that Ibbo Mandaza, who served as moderator, permitted a panelist to peddle this fabricated, patently false allegation laced with toxic, defamatory rhetoric. This not only exposes Ibbo Mandaza and the SAPES Trust to significant legal risk but also undermines the credibility of their platform, betraying a YouTube audience that expects rigorous, evidence-based discourse from events billed as "policy dialogues." Such lapses erode public trust and demand accountability to restore integrity!
