How MPs can run better constituencies after elections

2 hrs ago | 91 Views
Since 1980 after Zimbabwe attained its independence under ZANU-PF government, very little was achieved to bring about unity, love, peace and tranquility, before, during and after election, as Zimbabwe elections has always been characterized by political violence which in my view, it should be a thing of the past.

It is a fact that politicians has taken politics as a LOTO to make money and not to serve the interest of the people who voted them into power. And that is the reason why they would always want to see people more divided than ever, because they know that once people get united, they would ask them to account for every cent which they would have been allocated for their Constituency ,CDF, Constituency Development Fund hence, they would opt for Constituency Partisan Development Committees in order to run away from being accountable to their Constituency as they would always want to appease their political party supporters that their party won election and forget that once you win the election, you no longer represent the interest of your party but the Constituency, regardless of one's political party affiliation.

In Nkulumane Constituency where I Andrew Ndlovu ZAPU, lost election in 2023 against the late Hon.D. Moyo CCC. We called for Nkulumane Constituency indaba and came up with Clusters, the youths, disabled, women, veterans of the liberation struggle, men, churches, business community, square leaders, school heads and other clusters not mentioned. These different clusters were built from different opposition political parties who had lost 2023 October election including the ruling party ZANU-PF. And from these clusters, we came up with the main Nkulumane Constituency Development Committee, Chaired by Andrew Ndlovu, ZAPU. Constituency Development Fund , Chaired by the late Hon.

Desire Moyo CCC and Compassion Committee, Chaired by Pastor Muchengeti and all these committees were under the umbrella of Office of the MP , the late Hon. D. Moyo. The composition of these Constituency Development teams left no political parties outside including members of the ruling party ZANUPF as already mentioned above. And this 2023 Post Harmonised General Election Constituency Development Policy Plan, managed to bring unity, love, peace and tranquility within the Nkulumane Constituency, hence I would like to appeal to the Zimbabwe government through our Members of Parliament to come up with such a Post Harmonised General Election Constituency Development policy Plan, I have set Nkulumane Constituency as an example so that it becomes guide line for easy reference for our parliamentarians to move the motion in Parliament with a guided proposed plan.

This is the way out from political violence, because at these Constituencies Development Committees, they will be no political parties regalia needed, neither political parties slogans required ,at all Constituencies Development Committees gatherings, as it is believed that once any candidate of a political party has won election, automatically ceases to be a party Councilor or a party MP as he/she would have now on a people s jacket hence should lead the Constituency on a none partisan line for equal developmental Constituency programs.
